| Alco YDM4 & YDM4A Locomotives for Indian Railways Sep 13th 2009 |

Once a Main Workhorse of the Indian Railway Metre gauge Fleet the YDM4 & the YDM4A Diesel Locomotives will be featuring soon on IRTS Trainz Downloads Section. The YDM4 locomotives famed for their royal rumble and grunt has had a glorious past in the history of Indian Railways since their introduction in 1971 when they first rolled out of Chittaranjan Locomotive works. They were the main Workhorse of the Southern Railways Golden rock Division in the 1980s and also in Rajasthan (Western Railways) they played a significant role in Hauling most of the Passenger trains from Delhi to jaipur. Not to forget the Twin YDM4 Hauled Pink City Express which still has a legendary tale even after its demisal. The Famous Chennai- Madurai Vaigai Express (Now BG) since its introduction in 1977 was hauled by YDM4 Loco from Golden Rock Diesel Shed till its changeover to BG Traction.
